This came to me from the hands of a friend, colleague, and brother whose friendship I almost sacrificed on the alter of my own stereotypical assumptions before I ever even took the time to have a genuine conversation with Danya Perry I thank the Almighty that God’s grace and not my own thoughts guided my decision making that day we met some 10 years ago in Greensboro. While the story of how I met Danya Perry is another story for another day, suffice to say that I trust him. He makes me think. He lets me think. He asks hard questions and lets me ask hard questions. He is ok with us sometimes (often times) having far more questions than answers. So, I ask you to do what I did with this video when Danya shared it with me - Watch it and know it comes from the pure heart of a person who values people, loves this country. It comes from the soul of someone who deeply desires for our differences, disagreements, and even our misunderstandings to make us stronger and never divide us more deeply - never again. No more.
