This can be the most wonderful time of the year, but we also know many of you find it lonely and stressful, and a potential trigger for symptoms of anxiety and depression. For this upcoming festive season, wed like to suggest you make a plan. Plan to spend time with people who are supportive of you and make you feel good about yourself. If you don’t have family or friends who can do this, there are many charities that would love you to volunteer. Take a look at the Volunteering Australia website: volunteeringaustralia.org/ If someone you know is struggling, use the season of goodwill as an opportunity to reach out to them. Remember that what many of your loved ones really want for Christmas is to spend time with you. If you’re feeling lonely, or need advice, our Online Forums are a great, safe place to connect with others: beyondblue.org.au/connect-with-others/online-forums The counsellors at our Support Service can also be contacted 24/7 on 1300 22 4636 or via web chat from 3pm to midnight here: beyondblue.org.au/getsupport
