This case is SOOOO important because it happened in Texas (which is where we are trying to pass Candys Law). This family will HAVE to have support in order for the department and deputy to have accountability for what happened. You can support this young family in seeking Justice for Blue by signing the petition, calling the department (posting on FB), and/or donating also (for possible necropsy, legal fees, etc). The family has said any money not used in seeking justice for Blue will be used to help pass Canine Encounter training for Texas Peace Officers (Candys Law). Keep in mind, while Toni was holding her infant son, Blue (a 35 lb mini Aussie) was shot in his own front yard in the front leg, and seconds later the deputy decided to shoot him BEHIND the ear in the side of the neck after he was laying down writhing in pain from the initial shot! Then, while Toni begged the deputy to relieve Blue from his mortal wounds Deputy John Vaught shot him directly in the head (full story on FB Justice for Blue) Randall County Sheriffs department will NOT release the full dashcam and audio, and have only offered the family $500 and deletions of any valid concerns on the departments FB page. Please sign and share. Sadly this is yet another perfect example of why Candys Law is needed so bad. Hopefully, Texas panhandle lawmakers will join forces with the broadly growing movement and realize the need for this common sense law!!!!!
