This chemical spill in West Virginia is much on my mind today. Apparently freedom Industries is a subsidiary of a company owned by the Koch brothers. These are the billionaires who set up Americans For Prosperity. Before you contribute money to an organization understand who they are. There organization should rightly be called Americans for the Koch brothers. This is the same group that wants to do away with the epa, is lobbying to exclude chemicals they use in mining and manufacture from epa or state regulations amongst other things. I love that it is a British CEO. Of course not being a migrant minority makes it okay. These are the people that you know wont pay for the economic loss or other damages. Thats the reality of your prosperity, a chemical spill that put 150 people in the hospital and so far will pass through at least 3 other states. Can you imagine had the spill been larger than 40,000 gallons, how much worse it would be. What are we doing to our enviornment using chemicals like this in the first place. I hope this story gets the attention it deserves and those connected to it are held to account to the American people. No one wants big government until their water is poisined or some other tragedy. Just a thought.
