This coming Saturday in Columbia, head to City Roots for The Palmetto Tasty Tomato Festival presented by Sustainable Midlands. A celebration of locally-grown food – the people who grow it, the restaurants who place it on their menus, the markets that sell it, and the people who eat it! And if you cant make it Saturday, hit up any of the participating restaurants all this week for the Tasty Tomato Restaurant Feast, a collaboration with local restaurants offering special dishes on their menus made with Midlands Grown ingredients. Saturdays Festival, on July 19, runs from 4-9 and includes tons of local food and drink vendors, live music and all the tomato-inspired contests you can think of.
