This coming Sunday, two very important things are happening in Our Church, one is The First Synod of Bishops, on the Family is coming to an end, let us continue to keep praying, let us pray together for an abundance of fruits during this time Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love, to you we turn with trust. Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic Churches. Holy Family of Nazareth, may families never again experience violence, rejection and division: may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready comfort and healing. Holy Family of Nazareth, may the approaching Synod of Bishops make us once more mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its beauty in Gods plan. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, graciously hear our prayer. This coming Sunday, October 19, we also celebrate World Mission Sunday, let us give with generosity, and help bring love to other many parts of the World, think about all our blessings, how much we have that we do not need, and how much some do not have and need in other parts of the world, and give with LOVE, and GENEROSITY, just to go to the movies is 10.00 a ticket, just a way to put some money aside and help, if you go to the movies at least once a month, talk to your family, and donate that money to this Sunday second collection, or maybe think about donating the next two months and do not go to the movies during that time, instead spend that time reflecting on all the blessings we received constantly from God, and a great way to start preparing for the celebration, of the Birth of Our Savior. I Will Build My Church! Your ongoing support of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith is vital to the missionaries serving in 1,150 dioceses throughout Asia, Africa, parts of Latin America and Europe, and on the Islands of the Pacific. Your generosity makes it possible for local priests, religious, and catechists to reach out to communities, families and children in desperate need, bringing the light of Christ to the darkest of circumstances. For this year’s World Mission Sunday celebration, we are focusing on the words from St. Matthew’s Gospel, “I Will Build My Church” (Matthew 16:18), highlighting the outreach of local churches through priests, religious and laity among the poor and marginalized half a world away. The specific example we have chosen is of Bishop Wenceslao (Wens) Padilla, the first Bishop of Mongolia, and his fellow missionary priests from the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and their work among families and children in need, sharing God’s love and mercy, His hope and peace, while offering practical help – changing lives every day! Similar help is provided to mission churches in territories covering more than half the globe. Your prayers and generous support offered to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith on World Mission Sunday directly benefit the mission church – places like Mongolia where the young church is growing, filled with zeal for the faith, but lacking resources for its outreach to families and those in need. Such support is a concrete way to “build our Church” – to deepen your relationship with Jesus by helping Bishop Wens and so many other missionaries around the world.
