This coming weekend is the United Research Advance and a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Light Center. It is a time for us to remember, to give thanks, and to move forward. If I had to pick one word that captured my memories of the early years of the Light Center it would be magic. Every time I went there it was a magical experience. There was excitement. We felt that a wonderful new age was coming into being, and that we were at the forefront of that transformation. And the transformation was starting with each one of us. People were getting healed of physical and mental ailments - some of them quite serious: cancer, suicidal tendencies, drug addictions. I personally would feel as though the knots inside of me were being removed. And I felt safe and protected; I had a feeling that no harm or evil could come my way. Those of us involved with the Light Center felt a bond - we had a feeling that we were part of something very special, that we were the pioneers of a wonderful new world. This gave us a sense of mission, and that sense of mission led a number of people to make significant sacrifices and contributions. So I would like one part of our prayers this Saturday to be thanksgiving - a giving of thanks for all those on whose shoulders we now stand, for all those who gave generously of themselves so that we might continue to experience that special place that is the Light Center and that might continue to participate in that special mission of being the Light of the world. Your thanks might start with Jim and Diana Goure and the Goure family. But you might also dig deeply into your memory for others who have been part of the Light Center experience. Ill share the name of one individual who I will be giving thanks for: Ann Boyce. She embodied attributes that I value and admire. I loved her graciousness, her generosity, and her perpetual smile - a smile that didnt fade, even when she spoke of the cancer that had ravaged her body. She was unpretentious and gave generously of herself and her resources. She was patient and kind. If you have not been to the Light Center and are not familiar with people who have been a part of the Light Center experience, you may want to give thanks for others who have had an impact on your spiritual life. For whomever you are giving thanks for, you might want to use a prayer such as, Thank you, God, for _____________, who helped advance my spiritual growth. In addition to people, let us also give thanks for teachings and the mission: Thank you, God, for the insights Jim Goure brought us. Thank you, God, for the mission of being the Light of the world. Thank you, God, for my presence on planet Earth. May my presence be one that blesses Earth and that radiates Light for the Good of everyone and everything. I will look forward to seeing many of you at the Advance - and a continuation of the magic! Love and Light, Tully
