This compot to me is very special. In 1987 I was a member of the Fenton Glass Society and on Aug. 5th attended the convention in Marietta Ohio. Being a member in good standings, standings. My wife and I were invited to a special room on the second floor of the Fenton factory, were one of a kind and specially made glass was stored. In that room was Mr. Frank Fenton, I asked Mr. Fenton if he could recommend a piece of glass. Without hesitation he told me about this compote. This particular piece was was called Faborine glass.he said it took silver to make this glass. Mr. Fenton also said only 60 pieces of this particular glass was made in this colour, because they had a very hard time getting the bottoms to match the tops. Each member of the Fenton family has a piece and not one is a perfect piece. I treasure this piece, with the story behind it. I have seen this in other colours, but not in this. It was created for the 1976 U.S. Centenial.
