This cool loneliness has persisted for so long that my windswept heart mistakes the chill in the air for solidity, for depression. But all this is, is the absence of you. All this sadness is, is eagerness. Life without you is akin to the powerful pause before the music resumes. You reside in my future, a future the present has not yet become. Our present and mine shall intertwine. I have no control over the sea, nor the wind. I can only navigate, and follow my path attentively, and honor the wind by sailing with it, or against it, or alongside it. I miss you, friend: it has been so long!
