This date in White Sox history- July 30, 1995- John Kruk singled in the first inning in the White Sox 8-3 loss against the Orioles in Baltimore. Immediately following his hit, Kruk walked into the clubhouse, packed his bags, and abruptly retired for good. Frank Thomas replaced him and went 0-3 with an RBI. Robin Ventura was 2-3 with a double and an RBI, and Ozzie Guillen was 1-4 with a run scored. Jason Bere (5-9) took the loss, going 2.1 innings, giving up 6 hits, 7 ER, and 6 walks while striking out 1.
