This day in wrestling WWE history (October 21) : WWE (then WWF) had another No Mercy PPV 13 years ago today. For those of you unaware, this was the second-to-last invasion pay per view. (The invasion, of course, was after WWF bought WCW and ECW and the storyline angle was those to companies coming over and invading). No Mercy 2001 was an awesome ppv. So lets find out why : -We started off the night where the WCW tag titles were on the line. The Hardys faced off against The Hurricane and Lance Storm. The match was amazing. Ive never seen an 8 minute match produce such excitement. The Hardys picked up the win -Later in the night Intercontinental Champion Christian defended his title to Edge in one of the best singles ladder matches ever. The match was full of action. Edge won to become new champ -The Rock defended the WCW world title to Chris Jericho in a match that saw Jericho get his first big win in the WWE and set the tone for the rest of his career -The main event saw WWF Champion Steve Austin successfully defended his title to RVD and Kurt Angle. Another great match and a great way to end the night. The PPV is awesome. If you have the WWE network, watch this ppv soon. -Brain
