This decision is going to upset my many friends that work for - TopicsExpress

This decision is going to upset my many friends that work for International or are strong supporters of the current leadership, but I have stalled long enough. I was told not to post this due to the fact that I am currently terminated from spirit. After much consideration I have decided it is for the betterment of the membership. People need to not only know about the upcoming election, but the facts. I may not get my job back regardless of the results so what do I really have to lose? I have a strong feeling that the International leadership had a part in my termination as it is, to silence me on the shop floor so I dont have contact to the many members of the largest local in the southern territory. I will not be silenced. I have established myself as a leader in this organization and that is exactly what I am going to do. As a delegate to the Young Machinists and Emerging Leaders Conference, a member that has attended training classes at the school in Maryland on 4 separate occasions, at one time a highly respected Shop Steward, and member on multiple Local Lodge Committees I will utilize my resources to still get the word out to not only my many contacts around the country, but especially at local lodge 839 and District 70. Until this time I have not told people who to vote for. The current leadership has become relaxed in their positions. Appointing friends and family members to positions without recourse, which has also trickled down to the locals. Appointing people to high salary positions without reason. A steady decline in membership and yet two new general vice president positions were made, for what? The leadership positions salaries constantly increasing while we have mediocre contracts negotiated for us. Why do they deserve a raise? We arent getting enough to compete with the rising costs of inflation, but yet expected to pay more in dues. The biggest mistake yet, the poor handling of the contract proposal in Seattle at Boeing where THOUSANDS of members just had their pensions stripped away, something we as machinists prized ourselves on! A retirement fund we could depend on when the time came. That decision will eventually trickle down to the rest of us. This is in no way, shape or form me telling people to get out of the greedy union but more a way of saying make sure to get out and vote next month. Every local lodge member in the country has an opportunity to vote at their local lodge meeting in the month of April. If you do not know when this meeting is, ask another member, your union steward, your Business Rep. Every member deserves to have their voice heard and should. Anyone of your elected or appointed reps will not tell you to vote reform. They will tell you to vote for the current leadership. I am telling you otherwise. As just a fellow member on the floor. I have been involved enough. I have done the reading, I have met the current leaders, I have heard and witnessed what goes on at all levels of this organization. VOTE REFORM! And share this status with your friends and family. Show your parents or friends that work for a union shop in Wichita. We need change. Vote for Jay Cronk, Karen Asuncion, Jason Redrup, Sande Lien, Dale Cancienne, Patrick Maloney, Tim Obrien, then the current leaders: Mark Blondin who is an amazing leader! I have the utmost respect for him. Gary Allen who is the current GVP out west that has the respect of the entire west coast, and Lynn Tucker out east
