This doesnt surprise me much: https://youtube/watch?v=4Trq7AvtoEY For as much of a frustrating disappointment Android has been so far (about 4 months in), Google Now absolutely crushes it when it comes to voice commands. Its lightning fast, it always knows exactly what Im saying (it even gets proper nouns and it seems to figure out ambiguous words using context), and it constantly amazes me with how helpful it is. If the rest of Android worked as well as Google Now does, Id be a very happy Android user. Sadly, the OS on the whole reminds me more of Apple Maps. It works most of the time, but I wouldnt want to rely on it for anything important. Anyway, my long time with Siri had me feeling exactly the opposite. She was slow, confused, and often could not help me, even when she could understand me. I will say that, from this, it seems like she does seem to have improved a lot from when I had an iPhone. She never understood what I was saying half as well as she understood this guy (despite his thick accent), she came back in a reasonable amount of time (though thats probably WiFi at work, and I used her mostly when I was out), and she surprised me quite a few times there when I was sure she would fail. Still, iOS has trailed Android for quite some time in this regard. Siri has made up some ground, it would seem, but shes chasing a moving target, because Google Now keeps improving, even faster than Siri is, I would say. Like the reviewer said, its definitely a priority for Google and doesnt seem to be all that much of one for Apple. Big props to Cortana, though, as shes definitely a close second to Google Now. I was pretty impressed by how well she did, and it was close enough that if I were to move over to a Windows Phone (which isnt likely), I wouldnt miss Google Now, like I will when I inevitably return to iOS. Second place may not sound like much, but its good to see the Windows Phone hanging in there and scoring some victories against at least one of the two dominant phones.
