This entire scenario is disgusting. An unfortunate woman died. Because she was in the early stages of pregnancy her body is being maintained in a state of suspended inanimation on life-support despite her familys wishes that she be allowed the diginity of death and that they should be allowed to mourn her, and bury her. But...theres the 8th amendment, of course, and doing the right thing by the woman and her family is trumped by that. And the thought of a bunch of blokes (mainly) hanging around the Four Goldmines discussing the finer points of constitutional law when the ethics of it is staring them in the face is sickening. Now they have to go away and think about it, presumably over their Christmas dinner. Yes, the 8th amendment must be repealed. It simply must be shredded.
