This evening I stood beside my brides resting place. I know she isnt there and have never believed she was. I dont go there as often now. Not because I dont love her or miss her just as much, but the days are shorter and night doesnt allow much time to reflect there anyway. I do reflect and I persevere at the same time. I was told by a friend a few days ago that my wife in much wisdom said she couldnt look forward and behind at the same time. That sounds like Brenda. No, I stood there tonight because I wanted to place a gift that I had purchased for her while in Puerto Rico. To celebrate a trip we had planned together, but wasnt able to take together. I know the gifts that she is being given by Christ so outshine mine. I guess the gift was more a gesture of my love for her. I told her I would walk the beach for us and enjoy all the sights and sounds as though she were there with me. I felt her spirit with me, ( I knew what she would say about the things I saw there, thats what I mean), but my bride the one I was with since I was 16 was absent. She is with our Redeemer on the shores of Heaven. My gift was something simple that I know she would have enjoyed, Brenda was classy and enjoyed nice things, but saw beauty in simple things as well. I thank The Lord for the wife He gave to me all those years. I will continue to share about her and the love we had together. I look forward to seeing her again, but Ill glance back to see the beauty we enjoyed together. I think its okay to glance every so often to remember the special love we shared together. I wont get stuck in the past as some might fear, but I wont forget either as some might suggest, memories are a blessing to be cherished not put away because youre done with them. Your past shapes your present and your present determines your future. My bride, though now in my past has shaped my present and I believe my future is bright because of the love we shared. Thank you Babe for all you have done for me.Hope thats okay. I love you Babe, Ill see you soon.
