This evening a number of Facebook users have made a comments about the lack of a post on our Facebook page about a incident where an officer was attacked whilst trying to help someone. We issued a news release to all media who have been covering the story. The officer involved is being supported by the force and colleagues and thankfully did not sustain any serious injury. We understand the concerns raised and whilst we dont post details of all news releases to Facebook, perhaps more consideration should have been given to publishing and update to our followers on this page. Please note that this case is now in the hands of the court and its important the nothing prejudices the outcome of the case. The suspect will appear back at court on Friday.
