This evening our hearts are so full and we want to take a minute - TopicsExpress

This evening our hearts are so full and we want to take a minute to tell all of you why. A few weeks ago, we were asked to help with a benefit dinner for Rick Koester. (For those of you who dont know Rick, the link below shares his story) What began as a request by a friend for permission to use our building to try to put some sort of fundraiser together has piece by piece and person by person become a wonderful opportunity for our entire community to come together to help one of our own. We are amazed at the generosity of our fellow business owners. So many of you have donated wonderful merchandise, gift certificates and products that we truly are overwhelmed by your generosity. We have also had several individuals who have donated and your generosity is equally heartwarming. For so many people to come together, to care, to help a man in need.........Im no cry baby and to be honest, it takes something pretty substantial to move this ol gal to tears, but the folks of Custer County and a few beyond have most assuredly moved me to tears more than once in the last week. Tonight as our family discussed the donations, the concern that our everyone has shown for Rick and his family, the number of people who have told us theyll be there tomorrow night to support them---all of these things combined to remind us how very, very fortunate all of us are to be part of such a huge and beautiful community. Custer County has proven again that small towns can hold more love and goodness in them than any big city every could. So we just wanted to take a minute tonight to tell all of you what wonderful, beautiful people you are and to thank you for sharing so much of that with us! Custer County, YOU ROCK! abcnews.go/blogs/headlines/2013/12/crash-victim-richard-koester-survives-six-days-without-food-or-water/
