This fellow here is an asylum seeker; he claimed he had to flee his country because he feared for his life. However as all good asylum seekers he understands the value of the mighty dollar. The 29-year-old Victorian resident was suspended by the AWF for 12 months after he was alleged to have asked for $5000 before a qualification event for the London Olympics. It was alleged Koum demanded the money or would refuse to lift, which would have cost Australia its Olympic spot. (Note Fairfax couldn’t spell qualification). Not wanting to miss out he quickly contacted the country he feared and they were happy to have him represent them where he proved to be a massive failure, now guess what? It’s Australia’s fault because he didn’t win at Glasgow.
