This final scene from the movie The Legend of 1900 moved me to tears. Foremost, the scene between the friends 1900 and Max was very touching -- a supreme triumph of screenplay, lighting, cinematography, directing and acting. The content of their dialogue, particularly 1900s lines, was deeply philosophical despite the light metaphorical imagery of a piano keyboard, used by 1900 to convey the distinction to him between living a finite existence and an unlimited one without boundaries. Above all, the message was profoundly spiritual interspersed for greater depth with rays of brilliant mysticism, as 1900 explained his decision to stay on board the doomed derelict vessel. And finally, the scene was a beautiful portrayal of true friendship and unconditional love. You see this throughout their final parting and goodbyes.
