This fire sounds very well managed and tragedy still struck. No one is perfect but listen to a fire the next time or think of the last fire you were on. What if that dreaded mayday were called like on this fire. Would you be caught with your pants down? With no accountability, no real command directions or orders? Would you have a competent RIT crew on scene and ready? Could you stay calm and manage a mayday? These are all questions you should run through your head everyday let alone when you are running an incident. Its one thing to establish command its another to truly have command. Fires arent getting any safer, and staffing isnt on the rise. I urge you to listen to this and learn.
