This first photo is Journeys Amazing Daddy almost 40 years ago. The sleeper hes wearing here was given to us for Christmas this year! Cant wait to wrap up our little girl in it. He wore those boots when he was a boy, before he knew hed marry a Texan. The Vader Princess book is given by her Auntie Katie Denton. If you know Kyler, you know nothing will ever top this. Its the best baby gift ever. The doll was Journeys Grandmothers, Joy Boudreau (Grandmom), and the dress shes wearing was made by her Great Grandmother, Madge Crain (Mamaw). The doll can blink and really wets her diaper... So much love! The doll is the exact length Journey was when she was born (12 inches). Thank you, Grandmom, Auntie Katie and Mamaw for the precious gifts. GREAT DAY: Journey is officially on vapotherm (no longer on the nasal IMV)! This was the next wean step from her oxygen and respiratory equipment. Because she has Chronic Lung Disease (expected for all babies who have been on oxygen as long as she has been), the weaning process may be slow. Fortunately, lungs continue to regenerate for the first years of life, so she is expected to fully recover completely from the Chronic Lung Disease. Well just have to be extra careful and guarded with her lungs and respiratory health for a long while. No airplanes, or any kind of crowds, small spaces... Shes had the best three-days-in-a-row since she was born. Praise God!! Sleeping like a baby should sleep. Almost unnerving for this mom whos not used to a quiet, happy, sleepy, sweet babe for hours on end. Shes bacteria-free since January 6! Please pray for her to stay free from these dangerous infections. Thank you! Oh, and she practiced nursing again today! She did great for about 30 seconds and then fell asleep for a couple hours. Shes soooo sweet. And I swear in the last 24 hours shes smiled at me for real, on purpose. Like she thinks Im funny. She looks right at me, straight in the eyes, blinks slowly and smiles so softly. I pre-washed all her tiny clothes shell be able to wear when the PICC line comes out and/or when she comes home. So adorably precious to be able to wash 1,000 outfits in one load. Heading back up to see her now. I seriously cannot wait.
