This forum is meant for Fijians to voice their support for Independence of West Papua as the name suggested. I thank the Admin of this group for accepting the likes of me and the Melanesians from outside Fiji to participate in this forum. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.... And that means All Things Are Possible... Freedom for West Papua is NOT impossible... Independence for West Papua is Possible. BUT what I see today in West Papua is the fight for Leadership and not Independence. The differences between tribes, districts and islands weighs down what West Papua struggle to achieve. The exodus of 1968/69 and of 1983 that became refugees in Papua New Guinea have wandered away from the objective of gaining Independence. They have ventured into business and their children and grand children are happily working to earn living in Papua New Guinea. If Independence can be gain from a foreign soil then I admit I judged unfairly. History has proven that blood should be spilled to gain freedom. Freedom does not come on silver plate except for few countries including Papua New Guinea. The real West Papuans are the very ones that are in West Papua and continue to fight for freedom despite being imprison and tormented. My heart cries out for them. The others that make noise around the globe to gain support for Independence will continue to do that for their lifespan with little or no positive achievement. If you do have to die for your country, its best you die in West Papua and let the world see the struggle and suffering you had endured. If any country has won freedom from its oppressors from a foreign land that I havent heard of then West Papuans fighting for freedom in PNG, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Australia and other sympathasing countries are doing it right. Otherwise Freedom will remain a dream of every generation of West Papuans. I have heart for West Papua and have been living among them since I was a kid and feel the same way as any West Papua that wants Independence more then anything. God bless.
