This from one of my very good friends, friend. I Know, for a fact, that NONE of my Caucasian friends have EVER or will ever have to have this conversation with their children. I also have my own concerns every time I have to interact with the police because statistically I know the odds are not in my favor. Having said that, there are certain things that we must do when dealing with the police. 1. Continue to document whenever possible. 2. Keep your hands visible at all time. 3. Dont argue with the police and follow their instructions. You have a better chance of staying alive in a courtroom than if you escalade the situation. 4. Dont make any sudden or quick movement. 5. If you must reach in your pocket or waist for whatever reason, let them know first so they are aware of your movement. Its about staying alive.
