This game has many variations but here is the one I like to use for Saint Patricks Day celebrations: Player one says: Larry the leprechaun went to County Cork for a vacation and in his sack he packed a ______________ item beginning with the letter A. Player two repeats the whole thing and adds something with the letter B, etc... To help those with some cognitive impairments, you can write the words on a white board as they are chosen, or you could eliminate the repetition and just have them say something starting with the next letter in line. You can also pull out that bag of Scrabble letters and let them say a word starting with the letter that they have pulled out, it adds a physical component to the game that residents enjoy. One fun aspect of this game is that the whole group can act as a verbal chorus repeating the set up sentence until they get to the blank where the person whose turn it is goes. Hilarity ensues!
