This gem was signed into law by Obama in 2011. It gives the FDA new, overreaching powers to handcuff the local farmer. Our friends in Vermont who run a 400 acre farm say this is going to be costly to them and raise the cost of your food quite a bit. Now, the government does full inspections of all farm barns, fields, workers, tools and on and on. They even tell the workers how to fold toilet paper and wipe their ass(yes, that is true). If they find deer tracks in the fields or bird crap on plants they are not allowed to pick that area, they have a certain distance they need to stay away. My farmer friend(name withheld for a reason) says they believe you will now need a permit to make syrup as they to are considered farmers and will need comply to Big Brothers new demands. Who pays for these forced inspections???? He does and it is very costly. So lets see, more government regulations lead to higher prices for all of us. Seems to be a trend with Obama and his crew. More ways to take money from the struggling middle class under the, were just here to help government. As if $4 a gallon fuel didnt drive up food prices enough, now this.
