This gruesome and heinous incident happened in danapur – howrah express on 9th march but it has not appeared in print media or news channels so this for everyone to know and speak out. A family boarded the train from patna station got settled in their berths. And some boys entered their compartment as well. As in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh all the compartments become general compartments the miscreants made themselves comfortable in the poor family’s compartment. But soon all sorts of taunts and comments began to be cracked aimed at the daughter of the poor family. When the brothers and the father rebuked then heated arguments broke out after which the boys were chided down by the people. Everyone settled down not knowing that the worst was about to come. Seeing an opportunity the boys called up their accomplice and pulled the chain near khusrupur station and then 10 to 15 men boarded the train from the middle of nowhere all wielding hockey sticks, iron rods and even guns. And started to beat up the father and the brothers of the girl mercilessly and then finally abducted the girl. Yes the girl was abducted from the train in front of all the passengers and the presence of GRP personnel on train. The local police station was informed and the look out for the girl began. But the local administration was clueless of the whereabouts of the poor girl. And after about an hour the girl was seen returning on foot in a state that clearly depicted the ruthlessness and the cruelty the girl had been through. It was later known that the girl was dropped near the station by the same boys who abducted them. As soon as the girl returned the train resumed its journey as if nothing has happened, it looked like the people were waiting for the good Samaritans to bring the girl back from where they abducted them. And so the journey resumed for all the passengers of that train. Some were happy that the train is finally running some were sad to hear about the plight of the poor family and some were sleeping peacefully as if it was a no different train journey. But there was this girl who was repeatedly trying to jump off the train and end her wretched life and there were some concerned people who were there to console the family of the trauma. Soon all of the people fell asleep but for the girl and her family, who wont be able to sleep for a long time living the torment day in and day out. By dawn the family had somehow picked up themselves and the girl was told to change her dress and act normal as if nothing happened, and the girl obliged. And when they got off the train the next morning nobody can tell that their journey was any different. They can easily disappear in anonymity, vanish in the crowd, live life as if nothing has happened. But can they? Will they be able to bear the fact that the tormentors of their girl are still roaming free? Will they get justice? Will the rapists ever be brought to book? Its hard to be because the family has not filed a police report for the fear of society and shame. This incident has raised many question concerning the administration and the attitude of the society we live in Why was medical assistance not offered to the victim as soon as she returned? Why was the train left to immediately after her return? What did the local police do to nab the culprits when they knew about the incident? What were the GRP personnel on the train doing all the while? Was not the safety of the passengers their responsibility? Why did the local railway administration not register a case against the culprits considering the poor girl was abducted from the train? The girl was taken away in full view of hundreds of passengers which questions the attitude of our society? Was everybody afraid of they did not even care to raise a voice? Would they have taken a stand for the girl she might have been saved? This implies that the girls are safe nowhere? If this incident happens on a train guarded by railway police personnel so what will be the condition of other public places? Moreover the girl was not even travelling alone, she was with her family. How will a girl have the courage to travel alone anywhere? This menace of rape has become epidemic in India with over 4000 cases of rapes registered in just two months of this year. And which needs some serious and harsh steps to be taken in the direction of protection of women. The morale of the rapists are increasing in a frightening pace with murkier cases of rapes being reported each day and a hundred cases going unreported. Our criminal justice system and administration are very strong and efficient to tackle this menace but the will to act against t he injustice is lacking. This is what the need of the hour is. The need of the hour is that we share this post so many times that this gruesome incident comes to light as the media has not yet reported it anywhere. This is how the girl will get justice. This is how the criminals will be brought to book. So share it if u believe that a incident like this should never happen ever again.
