This guy is from Russia and was caught fighting and killing Ukrainian defenders. When he was asked how he ended up in east Ukraine fighting in the military formed by Russia, he shared his story. He said that while living in Russia he committed a crime by stealing a car. When he was taken to jail he was offered a choice: to go to prison for several years or go to a short work assignment and all his charges will be gone, like they never happened. He agreed to the assignment, not knowing that later it would lead him to fighting in Ukraine for Russia’s project “Novorussiya”. At first, he and a group of criminals like him were supposed to clean tanks. Later a Russian officer brought them to Ukraine and formed a battalion consisting of Russian criminals who took a deal – to wage war on behalf of Russia or to go to prison for a few years and have a criminal record. He took the “deal” and ended up in east Ukraine. He was recently captured in a tank. His life was spared and he was brought he the interrogation. This is his story.
