This halloween when we are buying candy to hand out to the trick or treaters,please be mindful to only purchase chocolates made from fair-trades chocolates.Currently,nearly 75% of the worlds cocoa is supplied by West African countries of Ghana and the Ivory Coast where nearly two million children work on cocoa farms.According to UNICEF, hundreds of thousands of these children are engaged in the worst forms of child labor.There is a cost for the luxuries and low costs that we have grown accustomed to,and it is usually paid by the people of poor countries.Lets become more aware of where stuff comes from and the conditions that people who produce those goods must work under.WE ARE THE WORLD.
