This happened at one of the nest sites that we watch before Christmas, but just getting around to posting it and found it fascinating. This female peregrine falcon got stuck in the muck in the river after missing her target and trying to land on an unstable island of debris. She broke free and was able to rise out, but it was a bit tenuous at the time... Peregrine falcon; Cleveland, Ohio; December 2014...
