This happened last night somewhere in Kigali. I photographed these photos If ever one EBOLA case appeared in our most densely country, the spread would be as quick as wild fire. I received a phone call on Tuesday night. It was about someone in Kigali reportedly bleeding from eyes and ears. I boarded a motor bicycle and when I found that the patient had been carried away to the hospital. Contrary to medically accepted means to carry EBOLA suspects, just a Samaritan with his car carried the patient to Hospital. When I reached the Hospital, the patient was lying on a bed with her family relatives sitting nearby. Nothing like protection. Fortunately, the doctor at the hospital told me that the patient does not show Ebola fever. Her temperature is normal, he told. Why did I go if I know that Rwandas health ministry has put in place screening mechanisms on the borders and at the airport? Simply its because the patient originates from Cyangugu (Rusizi), an area that borders DRC, a country where EBOLA has been diagnosed. Had this patient had Ebola fever, relatives, the man who carried her in his car, doctors and others should have been contaminated with this incurable virus.
