This happened on the Karsaz crossing about three decades back, when Karachi was a city of lights, peace, brotherhood and joy, ......those days we were doing our GL degree courses living in the gun-room where PNS RAHAT is now located..... A traffic cop was monitoring the traffic while the signal lights were guiding the vehicles coming in a flow from airport to Nursery, vice-versa and in between, also on the Habib Rehmatallah road (HRR) (ie. Karsaz road)......the signal was then red for HRR and everyone intending to turn towards HRR were having their feet on brakes, about to let loose....... There were two typical Lalukhet youngsters, very skinny, with paan in their mouths and giggling at something...they seemed to be in their last teens, riding an old Honda-70 bike.......the moment, the signal turned green, everyone sped off along with these two pillion riders......when they were crossing the cop, who was standing near the side, the after of the two, sitting behind the driver, yelled at the cop.......Oaayy Tullay, Ooaaay Ga- - u and then said something which I couldnt hear but the cop did..... There is a steep curve, just near the signal and it so happened that the motor bike that the two guys were riding came to a grinding halt on that steep spot with some phuk phuk phuk owing to probably a mechanical failure...... The cop put his challan-diary under his armpit, put the ball point in his hand behind his ear and moved swiftly towards his prey, who was virtually trembling then......the cop held him from his neck, and then said, Duss bachoo Tullaa pyo nu aakhia see.........the guys were almost in tatters, and were apologizing to the cop, saying sorry uncle sorry sir...this went on for some time and I could see the soothing effect on the face of the cop..... But he seemed to be a nice guy, and he let them go, with a smile on his face having caught his culprits and then had them off......at least I clapped
