This happened to me today (amongst other similar but not so extreme events)..... I took my mom to the doctor today and when i was getting out of the car I watched myself slowly shut the heavy metal door to my Ford Expedition onto my thumb. After a slight tug to remove my thumb from the door I realized that it wouldnt come out. That shocked me but the knowledge of the door being locked and the key being in my purse that hung from my other arm sent me into utter panic. Noticing no one around to help me I dropped my purse onto the parking lot ground and bent over to get the key (all while my thumb was still stuck in the door). Then I opened the door with the key. With adrenaline flowing and pain increasing the tears began and in a horribly pathetic voice I asked the two men who had apparently witnessed the entire scene why in the hell they didnt help me. They just stared not saying a word shaking their heads. i consider myself extremely lucky to be able to say that other than childbirth this was the single most excruciatingly physically painful period of time thus far in my 53 years of life.
