This has been a wonderful week as I am now stand on sidelines for my work on Gov. Sam H. Jones to be in my hands in about two months! In the midst of doing the work of the Lord, holding down jobs, transition from one church to another; it has been finalized! Thanks to all who encouraged me. The record of research, collecting documents, and from scratching out on legal pads, newspaper articles, and interviews-it came together. I trust when in the hands of the reader, it will be an eyeopener on one of the darkest political eras of Louisiana history. The door opening for a place called Fort Polk, the Brevell Murder Case, and Jones family connections are some of the highlights. I am now beginning my next project, The Battle of The Longs! The famous 1964 Congressional race between the Long cousins, Gillis and Speedy. It will hopefully serve as a mental movie of how the Civil Rights era played out in Louisianas piney woods country between two men of this famous political family. Finally, in a brief meeting this week in a North Louisiana town, I was asked to do a work on a one time local businessman, who in his life touched many families. His grandson will be serve as my guide of how groceries feed hundreds and jobs were provided. it should be a great endeavor, of which I am willing to try!
