This has got a lot of buzz lately, so Ill post a counter argument, since its way out there in looney land. Reagans socialist example was a bit extreme, so Ill go to the opposite extreme and explain what a classroom would look like under extreme capitalism. There would be a few people in class that get As because their dad pays the teachers salary. Albeit, this lucky few may be smarter than the rest, because they have the best resources at their disposal. Then there would be everyone else that gets Fs because the teacher doesnt give a shit about them and they dont have resources to teach themselves.
