This has made its rounds lately. Some have asked me whether this is being hyped, or if it is serious. My answer is that this threat is not new, but it is renewed. At least as far back as 2002, Al-Qaeda had issued a call for such attacks, with a price of 50k. The next question is what measures Troops and Veterans should take? First and foremost, we will not live in fear, but that doesnt mean we wont take precautions. The reality for most of us is that we would welcome the opportunity, so long as it is just us in the fray. It has long been my policy to train those closest to me in situational awareness and self-defense. Yes, some of them have replied that they just feel safer when theyre around me, but Ive reminded them that Im not always there. Secondly, Have a policy of not advertising information that would make it easier for terrorists or criminals to target you and yours, particularly the yours portion of it. The greater likelihood is a criminal doing the targeting, but a terrorist would be a much more deadly threat. Further, reduce the number of indicators of your presence or lack thereof, to a minimum. Dont give them the knowledge of whether they can set up the ambush and await your arrival, or have to attempt to overtake you within your own abode. Consider your four circles of security, and live with the peace of mind that should they come looking, theyll pay the price, whether at your hands or those you love. Chances are, theyre too chicken s--- to come a knockin, but for those few that make the attempt, lets ensure that they fertilize the earth. redflagnews/headlines/urgent-alert-isis-threatens-to-obtain-us-soldiers-address-and-slaughter-them-at-home-outrage-please-send-this-to-every-military-personnel-you-know
