This has me in tears. November is Diabetes Awareness Month. This video details a day in the life of a 7-yr old T1 and his parents.....since he is Camdens age, it really hit me. We, along with Camden, handle his diabetes differently than this family.....theres NO right or wrong, just what works for each family! From day 1 we have educated Camden and he is 100% on top of this disease. He counts his own carbs, calculates his insulin dosage, packs his supplies, etc. We absolutely monitor and assist with everything but this is HIS body. And knowing he can manage when he is away from us has allowed a small sense of relief. But this disease is 24/7 for Camden and us. Gone are the days of just spontaneously picking up and going somewhere. Even a little day trip is an hour planning/packing event. Diabetes is forever....or until theres a cure! Im praying for a cure soon so Camdens forever can be t1 free!
