This hits SO close to home. If you havent heard about this story yet, I encourage you to take a moment out of your day to read the article and watch the videos. Lauren is suffering from the same type of rare brain tumor that my nephew, Cameron, died from (just shy of his 6th birthday). It is called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). It is one of the rarest forms of brain tumors, with an average life expectancy of 6-12 months. There is no cure and it allows no survivors. So when you think you are having a bad day because you got a flat tire or you ran into your ex... just keep in mind there are people out there fighting for their lives and taking their last breaths. Be THANKFUL for each waking moment you have and dont take one second for granted. You guys are always so sweet and telling me Im a breath of fresh air, funny, and I give off a great energy, etc. And the REASON for all of those things is because what my family and I went through during the 15 months my nephew battled his brain tumor...forever changed our lives. My whole family is different. We have cried hard, laughed hard, and LIVED hard. We turned OUR tragedy into something positive. We have all changed for the better. Camerons spirit lives inside us all, and always will. You always think it can never happen to you, or someone you know. But I can assure you it can. So make sure you breath and live with a PURPOSE. Love more, laugh more, LIVE more... and dont ever lose you OWN inner 5 year old spirit :) Lauren Hill, whos dying of cancer, realizes basketball dream - CBS News cbsnews/news/lauren-hill-ohio-girl-dying-of-brain-cancer-realizes-college-basketball-dream/
