This hits the spot. Last Sunday I had to go a deliver a letter to a house on an estate where I know there to be lots of children. I said to my friend at the time where are the children, we did not see one child in the gardens or the streets. Now I was brought up on a similar street, it would have been awash with children playing all manner of games, games that cost no money.The air was full of laughter, the sounds of skipping ropes slapping the ground, chanting from hand slapping games.. Maybe an old football tennis ball against a wall. Singing etc etc. No Linda not one child, it was almost scary, like a science fiction film... Where were they. I came from a family of 10, we had the best of times.
