This holiday we are thankful for a great pizzeria business, and thankful for all you great fans and customers! Id like to take the opportunity to share some holiday thoughts with our fans. So.. while the holidays are certainly festive, fun, and cheerful, Ive observed many things that are hard to accept. The loss of traditions and the sharing of human spirit seems to be supplanted by retail sales, consumerism (look it up) and ignorance. When I was a kid, cracking nuts and eating cheese at the table with my family was SO enjoyable, with the game on TV, and the gifts never had to be returned. And the drinks! Ohhhh. This is just one little memory. You have yours too Im sure. As a whole, weve lost a lot of this type of tradition. We seem to no longer value a TRUE day off for the holiday. We seem to have forgotten the true meaning of everyone being equal, forgotten remembering your family, friends, and those who matter in life. Running out to finish a list with no substance or meaning behind it seems to be the normal acceptance today. Our younger generations dont get it. They lost out. Not sure who we can blame, but SO sad to see good times of people celebrating together replaced by selfies, texts and these stupid facebook posts! My wish for this holiday is for everyone to recognize the good people in their lives, and to remember those people. Take the time to visit them. Take the time to eat well with them, drink well with them, and share stories, in person. Shake hands, hug and laugh together. Sit and relax. Talk. Smile. Slow it down, enjoy the day, and make memories. Share a coffee, wine, whatever. Dont go shopping, instead eat cookies, open gifts and keep them no matter how awful, stupid, cheap, degrading and flimsy they are. Make a soft depression on the couch with your butt, and have some good conversation with a friend. Get comfy. Admire Christmas trees. Play with the kids. Whatever you do, please propagate the traditions of the Holidays and share among each other. Encourage acceptance of all holiday traditions, not repression in the name of equality. You know what Im talking about, Im sure of it. See the beauty in all people, and share in that. And if you dont have a tradition, hey, maybe you can start one of your very own. Happy Holidays to you and yours, Vince Cianfichi Vince the Pizza Prince
