This housing budget meeting on the local channel: my opinion is meh. We should be running the community like a business Im sorry to say. Every house should have a monthly maintenance fee of $50.00 per month, and that itself should be put into a fund where it will be used to fund maintenance on whatever jobs done the house need. Another thing is a one time fee between $500-$750 should be put down on a house that someone is moving into and that will be put into an account that gains interest over time, and the funds could be used to help with the cost of major repairs. (the fees would give the people living in the house a sense of ownership and pride, which may cause less damage in the house itself) Another thing I am worried about would be the whole database thing, I think it would be best to be on an appointment and urgent case kind of way (ex, person A needs a repair on his house due to mold and it has rotted through a wall, but he was given a repair last year for mold under his windows, but person B has holes punched in his walls from parties or fights but has never gotten repair jobs, the way their database works would be awkward at best) Another thing would be deliberate damage to a house by its occupants, some of the funds should be contributed by the occupants themselves to also give them a sense of ownership. ...that is all.
