This hundred-year-old Monterey Pine tree was completely green just three weeks ago and now the crown is dead. You can still see some green limbs on the right side of the tree as there is still some moisture stored in the wood of the tree. However, the trees vascular system is no longer functional which is why the top is died first. A victim of red turpentine beetle, unfortunately something that could have been prevented had we met this tree I year ago.
