This immigration situation along the southern border, and the Rights response to it is freaking me out. (Im referring to the thousands of children). Some idiot had a sign at the border saying not our children, not our problem. Are you kidding me? In the city of New York, your chances of being murdered are 1/25,000. In Honduras, its 1/14. Im not saying open up the flood gates, but I think every childs story should be heard. Worse, I have a feeling this is mired in race. If there were some awful occurrence in Canada sparking thousands of white children to flee to our northern borders (which ironically under current law, they wouldnt be allowed an unlawful entry hearing), people would be flocking to that border to render aide, offer adoption, etc. Im really not flamebaiting, but I am encouraging everyone to step back and look at the situation in its entirety.
