This incident I am about to describe is second hand knowledge, but was told to me last night. It is from a very reliable source. It happened in Crossville on Tuesday. A man and woman were getting ready for work. He left before she did, but the wife was apparently leaving for work just behind the husband. The husband left the garage door open because his wife was leaving in just a few minutes. Once the husband left, the wife hears something. She looks out the window and sees a man messing around the house. She calls her husband. He was a little down the road, so he calls his buddy to run up and check on his wife. As the buddy is getting close to the house, he passes a motorcycle. The husband had a motorcycle (I think a Honda CBR). It was in the garage with the key in it. The druggie steals the motorcycle from the garage and took off on it. The neighbor chases him for a little bit, but looses him in town. I know police were called, but Im unsure if police were close at this point. The buddy goes on and finishes his day. This happened about 7 A.M. The buddy leaves in the afternoon and goes by a business in Crossville. He drives by and recognizes the motorcycle. Starts driving towards it and the druggie sees him. Gets back on the motorcycle and takes off again. He once again chases the druggie on his friends stolen motorcycle. He called the friend and police. The druggie on the stolen motorcycle headed back towards the house where the bike had been stolen. So basically he had been joy riding all day and was heading back towards the crime scene. At this point, they were all three trying to catch him. The husband and owner of the motorcycle pulls out of a side road trying to block the motorcycle so he would stop. The druggie was still fleeing on the bike and ran the motorcycle head on into the car. Totaled the motorcycle and Im sure tore up the mans vehicle too. The man gets out, and detains the suspect until the police get there. At this point, he has a wrecked vehicle and a wrecked motorcycle. He sees police pulling in and his buddy coming so he lets the suspect/druggie up so the police can arrest him. The guy takes off running on foot and the police couldnt catch him. His buddy (was hasnt been out of the military very long and is in really good shape) runs the druggie down on foot. He catches him and ensures this time the suspect/druggie is completely detained until police get there and arrest him. True Story!
