Job Title: Desktop Specialist 1 Duration: 4+ months with possible extension Location: Germantown, MD TOP CRITERIA FOR THIS POSITION: Description/Comment: DESCRIPTION Client are seeking a self-motivated individual to provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting skills for PCs and Laptops running Windows XP, Windows 7 and Office 2010. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to diagnose and fix issues in line with agreed IT Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and have a good working knowledge Enterprise level helpdesk support preferable using Service Now or similar online software. You will be based in Germantown as part of the Global Desktop Support team working across functional boundaries with all IT Operational departments so will need to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Skill Set: • Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve PC problems • 3 Years + experience Win XP, Win7 • Working knowledge of W8 • Working knowledge of SCCM or similar OS deployment tools. • Build and deploy desktops, laptops using SCCM • Install and configure printers and other PC peripheral devices. • Upgrade and replace PC components. • Provide daily desktop and peripheral support. • Maintain, analyse, troubleshoot and resolve PC problems.- • Effectively interface with other department and personnel. • Participate in departmental projects as required. • Perform miscellaneous duties as required by IT management. • Provide assistance to communication engineers in troubleshooting network issues. • Working knowledge of Lync • Good knowledge of Help Desk Software in particular Service Now or similar. • Be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, potentially complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences at varying levels across the organisation. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see and use repetitive motions.
