This is Beaux. Beaux was brought to the shelter in late August when he was found running loose dragging about 4 feet of chain. He was at first glance a young, beautiful, but very scared boy. He quickly gave volunteers his trust. However, it soon became clear that he was treated poorly before being brought to us. We believe he was simply tied out with the chain he was found dragging and ignored by his former owners. As a result, he was somewhat weary of strangers at first and clearly lacked socialization with other dogs. Due to this lack of socialization as a puppy, he never learned how to play nice with other dogs and sometimes reverts to aggression when near them. As hes spent more time with us he has transformed from the fearful dog we first saw to a sweet, outgoing, energetic, and smart young boy! He has learned how to sit and is getting better at waking on a leash, especially with a harness. He shows less aggression towards other dogs, and with proper training possibly could learn to be dog-friendly. However, he still needs to be an only dog when adopted. He has done well with older children, but Im unsure of how he would be with younger kids. He loves getting tangled in brush and running through mud! He is a very outdoorsy dog. He waits as long as he can before using the bathroom in his kennel and has kept his kennel clean for 24 HOURS before, so there is a good possibility that he could easily be house-trained. This boy has a very special place in my heart and deserves a second chance. He has the potential to be a wonderful addition to someones family. He needs a home very soon and is in danger if he does not get one. PLEASE consider taking this lovely dog in as part of your family! Go to Morrilton Pound Puppies page and click the link to the website to fill out an adoption application! He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on shots!
