This is Chewy. Hes an 8yr old male Labrador who has spent the last 6 years being confined to the house and patio. He hasnt set eyes on any other dogs in that time, and only knew the people he lived with. However, I got to meet him 10 days ago, and have started taking him out for daily walks every evenibg after work. He has a lovely temperament, and greets every new dog with huge enthusiasm and wildly wagging tail. Because of his size, walking is a real struggle, with difficulty breathing, but it should only take a few weeks to build his strength and stamina up. Losing the weight will take longer, but hes already had his collar tightened a notch yesterday. His owners have now agreed that they cant give him the life he needs, and have allowed me to search for the perfect home for him :) Because he hasnt received ANY training, and because hes a large strong male, he wouldnt be suitable as a first dog. However, im slowly introducing some training into his walks to try and get him a little more suitable for rehoming, but am restricted as it takes most of his energy just to stay upright!
