This is Cordelia posting on Cathys page: Cathy was awakened this morning early to pounding on her door by the trash man. Hers and her neighbors house were on fire (a zero lot line house next door).Thick smoke was everwhere. She jolted out of bed, immediately put harnesses on her dogs, grabbed them and her phone. The smoke engulfed her entire home. She was hyperventilating. She had enough juice in her phone to make a call to an animal welfare friend who immediately came and picked up her dogs right when Cathy was being taken to emergency for smoke inhalation. She said shes fine but exhausted. The firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly. There is a lot to be thankful for. ~ Cordelia Scott Mendoza
