This is Dandy, who recently volunteered to take over the position - TopicsExpress

This is Dandy, who recently volunteered to take over the position of Middle Pasture Night Guardian from his brother, Indigo, who has developed cataracts at age 11.5 years. Dandy started asking to stay out at night at just about the same time that I realized Indis vision was going. Im in the process of having all my boys either neutered or vasectomized. Dandy had his vasectomy yesterday afternoon and was still a bit unsteady on his feet by 9PM. Nonetheless, he had it together enough to start dismantling the ex-pen I had set up for him inside the milking room! I reluctantly decided that it would be better for him to be calm out in the pasture than frantic and destructive in the milking room all night. So heres a shot of him at about 9:30 last night, still wearing his No Bite collar, not 100% - but on duty and at his post... (Lest you think me irresponsible or hardhearted for letting an impaired dog pull a night shift, there were at least two fences between him and anything that might try to come at him from any direction. And two of the girls were on duty in an adjacent yard. And I monitor night noises via a baby monitor and can provide substantial backup if needed!)
