This is Dbelinda at grade school graduation last April, the other pic is of her dad; the other of the area where she grew up. She is 16... she was 15 when she graduated from grade school and shortly after graduation turned 16. Several years prior, her mother died. Her father has multiple illnesses, lives in the trash and fears that he is not far from death. A few years ago we rescued Dbelinda and Dan Joel...who were used to scavenging the trash and working; missing alot of school. Their hope and value was to survive until the next day; to earn enough wages so that they could eat the next day. Last week, Dbelinda took an acceleration test at school in order to determine if she could advance from being a freshman. She passed it... she exceeded expectations; she will be enrolling in Junior level classes this November. She is active in worship and our church plant. Dbelinda has quickly become a leader. Please pray as she has been talking with our pastor about Baptism and what it means to take this step of faith and obedience. Pray for her and her father. She worries about him and his health; where he lives alone in the dumpsite. It is an honor and a privilege to provide her and Dan Joel a home; support for their education; and a pastor who explains the gospel and does Bible studies/worship multiple times a week. It is truly amazing to watch God transform her life and work in her life. That God is making her a leader and the journey and path that he is putting before her. I never cease to rejoice and praise God to see how He takes those who were looked down on and ultimately forgotten to be leaders among their peers and in their community. Pray for sponsors for our kids. Pray that we are able to rescue more youth. As college starts back up in November, pray for those who want to invest in paying for college for our kids. We believe God has called us to share the gospel, plant churches and invest in these children emotionally, physically, spiritually and education....He is raising up a generation of Christian leaders who I pray bring revival to their community and ultimately their Country.
