This is Dennis. Dennis spent quite a while talking to me on Tuesday about his experience coming back to the states from Vietnam. After getting back to the States, he wasnt able to find any work, and found himself living for a while in tents in Central Park. Someone told him that there was work out west, so he made his way across the country, doing odd jobs along the way, until he found menial work in Berkeley to keep him going. Today he paints in Harvard Square. He agreed happily to let me take his picture. I wanted to have something deeper to say about this, something profound, but I dont have anything else. This is just a little bit of his story. There are so many other stories like his that its overwhelming just to think about. All I can do is to tell what I can. And through all that, the guys got a goddamn radiant smile.
